What is CNAME?

CNAME (Canonical Name) Record: A CNAME record is used to alias one domain name to another. It directs traffic from the domain to another domain or subdomain. For example, if you have a blog hosted at blog.example.com, you could use a CNAME record to redirect traffic from www.blog.example.com to blog.example.com. It's important to note that CNAME records should only be used for subdomains and not for the root domain because they can interfere with other necessary DNS records.
